Holiday caravan 2023
Joined this year by WooSox Pitcher AJ Politi, the WooSox Foundation made a total of 15 stops in 5 days, in part of the annual Holiday Caravan. Thank you to the community of Worcester and our generous donors for making this possible!

St. Johns Food For The Poor
The Holiday Caravan began at St. John's Food for the Poor, a soup kitchen that serves thousands of meals to our neighbors in need, seven days a week. WooSox Foundation representatives helped by preparing and serving breakfast to Worcester residents.
Why Me & Sherry's House
Why Me & Sherry's House provides housing, meals, and other resources for families of pediatric cancer patients. Partnering with Kits for Kids, we brought toys, stuffed animals and essentials for the children and residents.

UMass Memorial Medical Center
The second day of the Holiday Caravan started at UMass Memorial Medical Center. We spread cheer by gifting pediatric patients with warm blankets and, of course, visits from the Central MASScots.

Boys & Girls Club of Worcester
At their annual Holiday Toy Drive and Party, we presented the Boys & Girls Club of Worcester with a $1,000 check, to help ensure that all children have a magical holiday!

WooSox Holiday Lunch
Right in the DCU Club of Polar Park, we hosted a group of Worcester Public School students for a holiday-themed luncheon. Featuring a nutritious meal, arts & crafts, cookie decorating, games, and live music by WooSox President, Dr. Charles Steinberg.
Abby's House
The giving continued at Abby's House, a center that provides safe shelter and resources for women and children fleeing domestic violence, homelessness, or crisis. Our team brought gift cards for residents along with essentials such as clothing, hygiene items, cookware, and cleaning supplies.

TLK Sports
At our next stop, we brought basketballs, volleyballs, gift cards and WooSox Foundation t-shirts for the young athletes. AJ Politi and WooSox employees jumped right into the action with a game of basketball!
Worcester Senior Center
On day three, the Care-A-Van made a stop at the Worcester Senior Center for their Elvis Holiday Festival Party. We had so much fun enjoying this event and spreading holiday cheer.

Gates Lane Elementary School +
Big Brothers Big Sisters
Members of the WooSox Front Office got to spend time with their "little", in partnership with Big Brother Big Sisters.
ENLACE Program at LEI
ENLACE, a middle school mentorship program through Worcester State University, inspires and transforms latino boys by teaching them life skills, personal development, cultural enrichment and more. We met with several boys in their program and gifted them with WooSox merchandise.

YMCA Central Community Branch
The gifting continued at the YMCA Central Community Branch with gift cards and WooSox merchandise for forty of the youth members there. Of course, this stop wouldn't have been complete without a competitive game of basketball!
McAuley Nazareth with Double Play Sports
In partnership with Double Play Sports, we visited McAuley Nazareth Home in Leicester, bringing personalized holiday gifts and pizza for the boys.

Worcester Housing Authority
On Thursday, the Care-A-Van made a visit to the Worcester Housing Authority, where we brought holiday candy bags for all of the residents.
Auburn Youth and Family Services
For the final stop of the 2023 Holiday Caravan, we headed to Auburn Youth and Family Services, where we helped restock their food pantry and bring mascot plushies. That's a wrap!
